Principal of arkitrave, Eric Shepherd has a rich background in design. His undergraduate degree is in Piano Performance, and he continues to perform music locally for weddings and parties as part of twist violin and piano duo. His graduate studies are currently in architecture, a field which, like web design, brings together many disciplines in the pursuit of integrated, elegant design.

Eric has strong skills in graphic design and layout, with an emphasis on clean lines and pleasing proportions. He has worked in print media, but understands that web media requires a different approach and a grasp of how people use websites. He is familiar with usability standards, and tries to find a balance between these standards and the graphical and marketing needs of his clients.

Eric's web skills include XHTML and CSS, the building blocks of modern web design, and PHP and JavaScript to make web sites dynamic.
